The Lantenengo Network is a collection of free-to-use entertainment / reference / random sites created by Lantenengo Industries. The sites were all originally part of the old Lantenengo.com. Then, in late 2007, a decision was made to split up the old Lantenengo.com in an effort to improve functionality and to increase appeal to users. Many of the pages from the old sites no longer exist because they were outdated or underdeveloped enough that updating them to Lantenengo's new standards wasn't worthwhile. Others, however, were enhanced and moved to various sites within the Lantenengo Network.
" BTW, you might think about changing the name of your business. It's hard to pronounce - I keep wanting to say Yo La Tengo."
Yes, it's hard to pronounce. We get that. But it's very meaningful to us and, if you have read John O'Hara's works, it is probably meaningful to you too. Lantenengo is the name of the street, county, and country club where much of John O'Hara's first novel Appointment in Samarra (along with later novels) takes place. Here's a quick timeline outlining the evolution of what is now the Lantenengo Network:
| May 1997 | Robert James Reese published his first web site on his dad's Earthlink account. In a sense, this was the beginning of the Lantenengo Network. The site created as earthlink/~reesewc was never deleted. Instead, it was continuously improved upon, occasionally moved, and every once in a while renamed to became what you see today. |
| Jan. 1998 | Robert registered robertreese.com and moved his site there for about a year. |
| Feb. 1999 | The site moved to cswm.net and became Robert Reese Web. |
| Oct. 2003 | Robert adopted the name Lantenengo for his web enterprises and moved the site to lantenengo.com |
| Apr. 2007 | Lantenengo Industries was registered as a business in New York City |
| Nov. 2007 | The launch of East Coast Runners marked the official beginning of the Lantenengo Network. |
